About

My research evolves around several interconnected topics. The general orientation aims at studying human behavioural patterns in prehistory, particularly in the Bronze Age. I am interested in the structuring of deposits within Bronze Age settlements and cemeteries and its theoretical implications. Here I have been developing a debate bridging theoretical models with results of archaeological excavations through mathematical, statistical, and GIS methods.
Another avenue of my research looks into the distribution of archaeological empirical material in the landscape in order to make assessments on the qualities and potential of the
archaeological record. Since 2000 I have been practising aerial archaeology, photogrammetry and mapping, as well as fieldwalking, GPS and total station field surveys to collect data for this kind of enquiry. Currently I have a project aiming to test the Photomodeler Scanner software, especially its ability to record portable archaeological finds three-dimensionally.

I am a member of the European Association of Archaeologists and have actively participated in its annual meetings since 2001. In 2009 I was elected to the editorial board of the European Journal of Archaeology.
